Understanding PDGF (Platelet-Derived Growth Factors)

PDGF is a regenerative therapy that uses platelet-derived growth factors. These naturally occurring proteins are found in the body and play a crucial role in cell repair and tissue renewal. During this treatment, a small sample of a person’s own blood is processed to isolate the growth factors, which are then used to stimulate the skin’s natural rejuvenation process. By supporting the body’s inherent ability to renew itself, PDGF treatment aims to promote healthier, more youthful skin over time.

Our PDGF Treatment Areas

Tired eyes, fine lines, and dark circles are some of the most common concerns our patients share. PDGF therapy helps:
This natural, non-surgical approach rejuvenates delicate under-eye skin with your body’s own growth factors – no fillers required.
Hair thinning or early hair loss can be distressing – but regenerative treatments like PDGF can help revitalize dormant follicles and improve hair density.
When used consistently in a customized treatment plan, PDGF can encourage thicker, fuller, healthier hair.
Pairing PDGF with Morpheus8 takes collagen induction therapy to the next level. Following your Morpheus8 session, growth factors are applied or injected to accelerate healing, reduce downtime, and amplify skin-tightening and resurfacing results.
PDGF Treatment
Before & After

What to Expect During PDGF Treatment

The PDGF treatment process begins with a thorough consultation where we evaluate your skin condition, discuss your aesthetic goals, and explain how the procedure works. During this visit, a personalized treatment plan is developed to address your unique needs, ensuring that the therapy focuses on areas that would benefit most from skin regeneration and rejuvenation.
Before the procedure begins, the treatment area is gently cleansed to remove any impurities and prepare the skin for optimal results. This step ensures a clean surface and enhances the skin’s ability to respond effectively to the PDGF process. Numbing cream may be applied to maximize comfort during the treatment.
A small blood sample is collected using a quick and simple process, which is then prepared to isolate growth factors. This step is essential to concentrate the platelet-derived growth factors (PDGF) that will later be reintroduced into the skin to stimulate regeneration and renewal.
Once the PDGF has been prepared, it is applied to the targeted areas of the face or body through precise injections or microneedling techniques. This delivers the concentrated growth factors directly where they are needed to promote collagen production, enhance tissue repair, and support natural skin regeneration. The procedure is typically well-tolerated and completed within a short session.

Recovery & Aftercare

PDGF treatment involves minimal downtime, allowing patients to return to their daily routines soon after the procedure. Some temporary redness may occur in the treated areas, which typically subsides within one to two days. Because the treatment uses your own biological material, the risk of allergic reactions is extremely low. Most patients find that their skin feels smoother and more refreshed as healing progresses. Visible results develop gradually over several weeks as new collagen forms and the skin continues to renew itself, leading to a more radiant and rejuvenated appearance.
Candidates for PDGF Treatment Novi, MI Banner

Candidates for PDGF Treatment

PDGF treatment is suitable for individuals seeking to enhance their skin’s texture and tone without undergoing surgery. It can benefit those with uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, or areas affected by sun damage. This procedure is also ideal for people who wish to target specific skin concerns, such as dullness or reduced elasticity.
Because it supports natural skin regeneration, PDGF is safe for most skin types. Individuals seeking a gentle yet effective way to address early signs of aging often find PDGF treatment a valuable addition to their skincare routine.

Benefits of PDGF Treatment

PDGF treatment promotes skin rejuvenation by naturally encouraging the body to heal and renew itself. It stimulates collagen production and enhances skin elasticity, helping to smooth fine lines and minimize age spots. Over time, the skin appears more even-toned and refreshed, revealing a healthier, more youthful appearance.
By promoting new tissue growth, PDGF treatment helps refine uneven areas and improve overall skin texture. The regenerative process supports smoother skin and reduces the visibility of acne scars, making the complexion appear clearer and more balanced.
PDGF therapy can also be applied to the scalp to strengthen hair follicles and support natural hair regrowth. The growth factors work to rejuvenate the scalp, helping to improve hair thickness and reduce shedding for a fuller appearance over time.
As a minimally invasive treatment, PDGF therapy offers noticeable improvements with little to no discomfort or downtime. It can enhance facial contours, refine pores, and improve skin tone, allowing patients to resume their daily activities soon after the session.
